When a child is pulled from a swimming pool after an unintentional fall, every second counts! Unfortunately, proven rescue techniques like CPR and first aid aren’t widely practiced outside the medical profession, meaning most bystanders can only dial 911 and wring their hands while waiting for emergency medical units to arrive.
Parents or other child caregivers can take CPR classes offered by the Red Cross, hospitals, fire departments and recreation departments. It can save a life and seconds count.
