"It pulls my heart out because I've been where these families are and it's 100 percent preventable," said Cierra Sonetti, whose son nearly drowned. "It's a hard time." Sonetti knows all too well the horrors of a near-drowning. Her 17-month-old son Austin accidentally slipped into a pool back in 2005. Now 8 years old, Austin relies on a feeding tube and around the clock nursing care.
"It's heart-wrenching," said Sonetti. "The thing that's heart wrenching about it is that it's so preventable."
